Final Exam is somewhere around the corner...

2 weeks to go for my final...

And i feel a little bit nervous because i haven't sit for examination for more than one year after my UEC exam...

Although the courses for this semester is not too tough, there are plenty of lectures i have to read in my revision. Now, i really need to focus on all the topics in order to pass with flying colors. Hopefully, i have 2 revision weeks to prepare and ask our lecturers the questions i met (maybe can get some tips also).
Gambateh lo, there is no short cut, i shout to myself.

2 weeks and 5 days more,
I will be back and celebrate Chinese New Year with cheer.

What i am sure is there must be many voices to ask me about the studies or life in Guangzhou. Maybe i should draft on plane along the way back home.
And i hope i can get many big big angpau next year.

Besides, now i can even imagine what does it tastes when i take the first bite on Nasi Lemak and Roti Canai. And how excited when the fluid of Teh Tarik lingers in my mouth. Crazy right?
My saliva already came out when i wrote this.

It is time for overeating when i go back home.

First show in Guangzhou Big stage !!!

2 month ago, i had joined Malaysian Cultural Troupe in Guangzhou (马来西亚驻广州文化艺术团), a society under the authority of Ministry of Malaysia Tourism in Guangzhou. A cool troupe i think because what i had to do is learned how to dance, dance and dance. Neither break dance nor street dance, of course no hip-hop, but Malaysia traditional dances, traditional dances with traditional costumes. As i have no dancing experience before (i am not a good dancer as well), to learn those dances and perform them are quite a harsh job for me.

2 weeks ago, a good news came from Ministry of Malaysia Tourism that was we would have a performance during 2008 Guangdong International Tourism Exhibition & Tourism Promotion (2008 旅游大促销暨广东国际旅游展览会) on 29 & 30th November. What a surprise is, as a newbie i had this opportunity to step on the big big stage also. Wow, it is awesome !!!

2 packages in 2 weeks. An intensive training course started. Our choreographer, Mr Yusoff who had great experience in traditional dances, taught us the pas of 18 chosen songs. 19 of us danced for 40 minutes in the packages.
Days ran fast and here came the show time !

We must put off all our accessories (like spec,watch) when we danced, as i have short sight, i worn contact lens that days.
Wearing contact lens = nightmare, for me...
You know why, because it is hard for me to put the contact lens on my kecik kecik eyes...
I used almost half an hour to put them on by lending my friend's hand also...what a pity... T_T

Besides, the costume i worn as orang Iban pretty sexy, and the strong wind nearly frosted me on the stage. Can you imagine a guy who danced in shivering... really cool and cold... -_-

Anyway, i felt myself like a star when i was standing on the stage and facing over hundred people. This was a great experience for me although i danced like a robot... haha...^^
Now, i am waiting for the 2nd chance to perform...

Hehe... it was the first time for me to become such a huge creature...

Looks great right.. but i tell you, i sweated a lot inside and i felt like i was going to melt like chocolate..

I gave up after 10 minutes then.. and there was students from the other class wanted to try, i said "Go ahead, Thanks !!!"



For this time, our class had to present and promote Chinese Kungfu with the topic "Weapons" ~十八般武器. To attract the crowd, we also had a small game and with the special present ~ Mickey mouse fish (kind a gold fish with mickey mouse avatar on its tail).

With the cooperate of our classmates, our Chinese Corner activity this time ended with smiles. In my opinion, we were already had the first step and hope that this kind of spirit still remain the next time.

Chime Long - China's world-class amusement resort

19/10/08 was a wonderful day for me because i went to Chimelong Water Park with some of the MSA members. Maybe you dont ever heard this place before.. but i tell you ,this is the world biggest and the most advanced amusement resort. It just like the combination of Genting Highland, Sunway Lagoon and Safari Park.. Besides, it has Night Zoo, Crocrodile Park and International circus also. But we enjoyed our whole afternoon in Water Park that day.

As it is the largest water park in Asia and consists of the latest high tech rides, all of us played like insane. It consists of the world’s largest wave pool, the world’s first Boomerango ride, the world’s longest lazy river, and some of the fastest speed slides available.

The heat of the sun forced us to stay inside the water. Fortunately, there were no large crowds that day and we had played every single item there except for some which were unavailable. Besides the Boomerango and "lazy" river i had mentioned just now, there are also a huge tornado, high speed slides, family ride, Behemoth Bowl and etc. I think the most excited is the huge tornado, it felt like you were being thrown out. On the other hand, Behemoth bowl is the most funny one. Its design just like a toilet bowl and you just imagine yourself as a shit which will be flushed into the bowl. Haha..It is not a good feeling to become a shit anyway.. lol ..

We played until 6 o'clock in the evening and went back with an exhausting body. That day was a lucky day for us because all of us got a free ticket to go there again for the next year. Why? Because that day was the last day for Water Park opened for this year and it would be close the next day until the month of April next year. And there were free tickets for those who played that day. How lucky we are, i think, very very lucky.

2 birthday victims in October ^^

On 18th October was my Hong Kong roommates birthday. We are quite a good guy because we invited him to the downstairs of our dorm and let him know our cake was ready to "kiss" his face.He tried to escaped but the result was the same. Besides, he took a coke-cola shower too. With his "caked" face, he began to revenge. And we had our crazy photo here.

The same month, 23th we had another victim,Simon, from Kuching Malaysia. For this time, our location was our dorm balcony. Cake still the same but we had also homemade secret recipe: a juice contained bitter gourd,wasabi and pepsi. This time we let him to drink a glass of homemade juice and we ended our celebration with flour war.Everyone had become smooth and white,most likely a ghost.

After happy hour, is time for us to clean up our dorm. Because we celebrated sharp at 12.ooam, we took quite a long time to tidy up our room and it was 3.00am when i got into my bed. Hope we would not fishing with Zhou Gong in tomorrow class.

A new chapter in my life ^^

One and a half month have passed ...Time always runs fast, if you still keep shilly-shally. I still remembered the time i wandered lonely like a cloud before i inhaled the air in GuangZhou.

With the helps of my seniors in Jinan University, i started my new life on 6th September. The first day, what i was surprised was the campus of this university with the area of 1,695,200 square meters, it is too big for me (for the first week). The first day, also the registration day, was a nightmare for me. I assumed that everythings should be fine when i registered but the staffs who incharged nearly drove me crazy. The one who was inside told me to go outside to complete the works there first, but the one outside wanted me to go inside for confirmation. Go in and out, go in and out... that damn procedure had wasted at least 30 minutes of my precious time.

After i registerd successfully, it was time to get my room. That was the moment which i was waiting for, not because i wanted to see how luxury my room was, it was because the heavy luggages finally had a place to settle and they nearly "killed" me i thought. Can you imagine if you carry 2 bags with you and a 20kg luggage and walk about half an hour to your destination, you cant even sweat after that. And you must gritted your teeth when you are climbing up a slope, a long slope. What a good start !

Well, my dormitory has 20 floor and i stay in 17th floor. There are 8 of them in the room, and has 1 single room, 2 double room and the others have to sleep in living room. Fortunately, i get a double room and my roommate, Nicholas is from Sandakan, Sabah. Besides, there is also a bathroom with only heater in my room. As you see, there is a desk and cupboard under my bed. My roommates come from different countries: there are 3 Malaysians (include me), 4 from Hong Kong and 1 from Taiwan. But all of us are in the same class so we always attend the classes together.

Cleaning my dirty room and buying daily necessities were the most important things to do. There is nothing left in my room, neither fan nor air-conditional, what you can see is just your bedstead. Lots of dust and spider web, and luckily i don't find any dead rat here.

I started school on 8th September. And there is nothing special in the 1st semester. No medicine, no corpse, no white handsome suit, all i need to do is attend the class and finished my homework.
The 8 subjects are :
Fundamental of Computer (lots of assignments),
Mental Health (a profound lesson by an American lecturer who always satirised China),
Comprehensive English (the word "anyhow" is her theme, at least 5 times per lesson),
Oral English (a funny teacher from New Zealand, the only class i won't fall asleep because we have to present our drama every lesson),
Physical Education (a friendly basketball coach),
Modern China (learn the history of China, always "fishing" when listening to her),
College Chinese (boring lesson, fortunately i passed the Pinyin test so i no need to attend the class) ,
and
Advanced Math (the most terrible and over 3 hours lesson, i bet, she will drive you suicide if you attend her class because of her oral english. Even the China students hear nothing from her).

Our class has 41 undergraduates. Because i'm studying in the International School, i have different kinds of classmates who are come from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, USA, Columbia, Yemen and Kenya. 11 diferent countries nations are now here knowing each others and will study together for 6 years. For my class advisor, he is now in Year 4 and studied Clinical Medicine also.

I had been chosen to be the Studies Committee in class but not monitor. Being one of the committee in class, i could see how my China friends organized an event. They don't have proper plan to organized something, they just do what they should do and won't care even they done something which didn't make sense. Here, they will ask why we shall have a review meeting after conducting an activity, they will ask you how to do a meeting report and they will do every things on last minute. I assume that they don't have any experiences on conducting activities, but in common sense, will you start to decide where to buy your BBQ chicken wings at 1 pm if your barbecue started at 6 pm, will you forget to book a bus and book it at the day you are going to have a trip? Will you ???

Although their diffuse skills and organizational skills are not as good as we are, they have a very great learning attitude. They keep doing they revision and learn as much as they can. In my dorm, i can't feel any tension or the deep learning atmosphere. I think that is what i should learn from them. Besides, they can solve difficult maths problem by just looking the questions.
It is incredible!
